TREATMENT UNITS

The Behman houses four treatment units: General Adult Psychiatry, Addiction, Learning Disabilities, and Old Age.

GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY

THE VILLA

The Villa comprises two small buildings with standard rooms and communal lounges as well as suites, chalets, and executive chalets. It can accommodate treatment for different conditions and disorders. For details and room specifications, see Accommodation.

WARDS

There are three closed wards for general adult psychiatry, two for men and one for women, housed in separate buildings on our campus. These wards are designed to provide comfortable, safe, and secure accommodation for adults with different psychiatric disorders and conditions that require intensive supervision and treatment. Accommodation options include standard rooms and suites. LED screens may be supplied based on the recommendation of the attending consultant psychiatrist.

THE ADDICTION UNIT

The Behman is one of the pioneers of the ‘open-door’ policy in the treatment of substance use and addictive disorders. This approach is built on the premise that patients can handle a certain level of freedom while on their therapeutic journey. The Addiction Unit at The Behman is housed in a separate building for male and female patients and provides a variety of accommodation options for patients. All rooms and chalets are air conditioned and en suite, and patients can also be accommodated in the Villa’s executive chalets, if requested.

THE LEARNING DISABILITIES UNIT

Housed in a separate building, the Learning Disabilities Unit is tailored to the individualized care needed to safely accommodate adults and children with mental and physical disabilities in a secure environment. Accommodation options include standard rooms and suites. LED screens may be supplied based on the recommendation of the attending consultant psychiatrist.

THE OLD AGE UNIT

The Old Age Unit is equipped to accommodate geriatric patients with both physical impairment as well as memory loss disorders. It provides suitable accommodation for the elderly with safety measures a priority. A tranquil atmosphere, special needs access, and high staff-to-patient ratios are among the features that ensure patient safety and fulfil their physical and behavioural needs. It offers standard rooms, suites, and ground floor chalets
