Covid-19 Regulations
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, The Behman continues to provide care for existing patients and also welcomes new patients who need our support. To ensure the physical safety of our patients and our staff, we have put extensive infection control and hygiene procedures in place to limit the chances of infection. We encourage anyone entering the hospital to follow the rules outlined below to ensure a safe experience for everyone involved.
- All clients, visitors, and staff must wear a mask at all times on hospital premises.
- Anyone entering the hospital will be screened for elevated temperature.
- If you have any symptoms suggesting COVID-19 infection and/or you were in contact with a suspected case, we encourage you to stay home.
- Please follow social distancing guidelines and maintain a safe distance from other people at all times.
- Remain in outdoor areas whenever possible.
Information on visits:
As part of the current restrictions, visits are limited to once weekly with a maximum number of two guests per visit allowed. We do, however, provide alternate methods of contact available on request. We also understand that in certain situations, individual arrangements may be necessary.
Temporary Leave:
Most non-essential leave arrangements for inpatients are currently cancelled.
Admissions:
All admissions to The Behman undergo a thorough pre-admission screening and body temperature measurement. In the event of a patient showing symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 (i.e., fever above 37.5C, cough, chest tightness, or loss of taste and smell) the admission maybe declined or postponed until investigations are concluded. The on-duty doctor will inform you about the required investigations at that point.
If you have any symptoms suggesting COVID-19 infection and/or were in contact with a suspected case, please call the hospital before arriving and request information on admission procedures in this case.
Once admitted, patients undergo a battery of lab tests to ensure the safety of both the patient and of other hospital residents and staff.
In case of firm suspicion or confirmation of COVID-19infection, The Behman observes a strict protocol of isolation and case management.
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
All patients undergoing ECT are required to undergo the necessary COVID-19 screening investigations. Please contact the hospital for more information.
Outpatient Clinic:
All attendees should wear masks at all times. Temperatures will be measured at the door.
Note: These regulations are subject to change according to national and international guidelines.
